Distinctive Black And White Letterpress Business Card Design
Xavier Gougeon developed a distinctively quirky and inventive image for his company logo and the design for his business card makes the most of this image. The black and white colour scheme suits the illustrative style of the logo and typography and being mainly black on one side and mainly white on the other there is a mirror image feel to the design. The cards have been beautifully printed via the letterpress technique, which adds texture to the cards. Printing the black side with white writing is actually quite difficult to do well on letterpress - the large amount of black ink flooding the paper can cause the fine white, blank areas of the card to lose clarity but the printing here has been executed expertly and the result is very impressive.
