The images on the faces of the cubes are icons which represent the various things you'll find on the site. The use of these icons keeps the design compact and neat which is important since the faces of the cubes are quite small and having a lot of text would become fiddly and fussy. The cubes are small enough to easily slip into a pocket and their resemblance to dice makes them enticing for a client to play and interact with them. Being so unusual and different they certainly stand out and are likely to be held on to.
