Creative Letterpress Technique Business Cards For A Graphic Designer

At first glance you might think that these cards have been laser etched but in actual fact they have been created by using the letterpress technique on wood. The type of wood used here is thin slices of balsa wood which are soft enough that a gentle impression is made into the surface. It would appear that balsa wood also makes a nice surface to print on and takes ink well. The subtle wood grain and sepia toned colour mesh well with the vintage style design. Mike James designed and made these cards for himself.
