Vintage Illustration On A Letterpress Business Card For A Tattoo Artist
The inspiration for these cards from antique apothecary labels and old scientific illustrations. The owner of the cards is a tattoo artist and the styling of the cards reflects his interests artistically. Several different printing techniques were used to give the cards an authentic aged, vintage look to go with the feel of the chosen imagery. A nice thick 600 gsm cotton card stock was used as the base for the cards and each sheet was tea stained by hand on both sides. The printing has been done on letterpress which, being an historic printing method, also ties in nicely with the design. The inks used were a mix of a sepia brown and a bronze metallic. All in all this was a custom job where a lot of attention to detail went in to creating a variety of nuances which come together to make a set of unique and beautiful cards.
