Brilliant Hot Foil Stamped And Letterpress Business Card For A Graphic Designer
Hot foil stamping involves bonding a very fine layer of foil onto a card and it's usually done just in small areas, say to highlight an area of text. Bonding this foil over a large area and having a perfect result is quite difficult but it gives a stunning effect - a much shinier and reflective surface than can be achieved with metallic inks. Andy Cooke used a specialist letterpress printing studio to print his cards and they took on the challenge of hot foil stamping almost the entire surface of the front of his cards. The result was quite spectacular, with a more subdued and minimalist letterpress printed back to the cards providing contrast to the very eye-catching foil fronts.
