Textured Letterpress Business Card Design For A Graphic Designer
It's the texture and the use of the letterpress printing technique which really makes this card nice. On its own the card has good design features but might have been a bit bland if standard offset or digital printing was used. A background texture which echoes the main logo makes the card suddenly more interesting and nice to hold as well as subliminally repeating and reinforcing the image of the logo. The background texture has been printed using the blind press technique where there's no ink on the printing plate and the force of the letterpress makes a deep impression into the card stock. This technique works best on thick card stocks like the one used here so that there's plenty of thickness for the image to bite into.
