Black And White Business Cards Printed On A Variety Of Experimental Surfaces

These cards were made for a creative furniture design company. The designer of the cards had a good relationship with a letterpress printing studio which allowed her to make some requests that they try experimenting with a variety of paper types and even wood to print on, for different effects. The best and most interesting print results were used to create a set of cards which have an intriguing look and feel - they stand out from the crowd without resorting to gaudiness. Four materials were chosen for the end product - an ebony wood veneer, a super glossy white card stock, a rubbery textured plastic coated stock and an opalescent finished paper. After printing these materials were bonded to a sturdy white card stock to give a thicker, more substantial card. These cards utilise the same design and printing plate for different results which leaves scope for producing more variations on the future.
